Capturelib Screen Recorder, as its name so adequately points out, will make a video recording of whatever is on your screen; it can record the entire screen (full screen recording), a region (fixed region, region selected before the recording), or a specific window. Then it will let you annotate the video recording. And last but not least, it will allow you to save the recording as an AVI file.

The system requirements for running Capturelib Screen Recorder are very low: 166MHz processor or better, 16MB of RAM memory or more, Windows-compatible sound card, microphone and speakers, Windows 95 operating system or newer.
To install the application you simply need to download an executable, run it, and then go through the instructions presented by a setup wizard.

Down at the bottom of the application’s interface there’s a list of all the video captures you made. Select one and it will be played in the panel that takes up the main part of the interface. At the top there’s a traditional File Menu and right underneath it there’s a toolbar with nice big buttons for several functions the application has to offer. The simple truth of the matter is that even if you haven’t used a similar application before, you would quickly get used to Capturelib Screen Recorder’s interface and you’ll have no problems using it to access the application’s functionality.

Speaking about functionality, you can expect to get the following from Capturelib Screen Recorder: select what to capture (full screen, region, window), manage all captures, view all captures, add system stamp (time/date, elapsed time, computer name, user name, comment), choose for how long the stamp will be displayed, add caption, choose for how long the caption will be displayed, record audio, mouse click and keyboard sound, highlight mouse cursor and mouse clicks, Auto Pan, save recordings as AVI.

Please note that the trial version will put a stamp on each recording; the stamp is displayed in the upper right hand corner.

Capturelib Screen Recorder is great for creating video tutorials for example. You can use the application to easily record whatever is on your screen and then save the recording as an AVI file.

Pros

The application’s system requirements are very, very low. You will quickly get accustomed to the interface. Choose what you want to record: full screen, region, window. Add system stamp, add caption, record audio, highlight the mouse cursor, and more. Save recordings as AVI files.

Cons

Nag screen; stamp in the upper right hand corner of all the recordings made with the trial version.
